INDUSTRIAL SECTION.

 

This part of the show is run by the hard working Ladies Committee. The Classes in the Industrial Marquee comprise of Bread, Cakes, Produce, Floral Art, Handicrafts, Photo’s and a large section of children’s classes.

Exhibitors must have their entries staged by 10.30am.

Our Tent will close for judging at 10.30am.and open to the public for viewing at 1.30pm.approx. Once the tent is open the committee ladies are busy selling raffle tickets for our grand drawing at 4pm.

Entry Fees:- 25p each entry.(except children’s which are free)

Entries Close:- Friday 28 July 2012.

Prize Value:-  First - £4.00. Second - £3.00. Third - £2.00. (except where otherwise stated)

 

                                         RULES

1      No exhibitor will be awarded more than one prize in any class.

2      Last year’s prize-winning articles debarred.

3      Each parcel sent by post must have a list of contents and must reach the Secretary not
        later than 28 July 2012 and must be accompanied by the amount in postage stamps, for
        return postage.

4      Any exhibitor having 15 entries or more will be allowed a subscriber’s ticket to the
        show field. (Entries 25p each)

5      All jams and lemon cheese must be shown in plain glass jam jars.

6      In the event of the cancellation of the show, entries of £5 or under will not be refunded.

7      Articles to be on stage by 10-30a.m. (Prompt)

8      Articles not to be claimed before 4-00p.m. on the Show Day, when prizes will be given.
        Articles not removed from tent by 4-30p.m. are left at the owner’s risk.

9      The committee will not be responsible for any articles lost, although reasonable '
        precaution will be taken.@

10     Any complaint or protest must be made to the Secretary in writing on Show Day,
        accompanied by a fee of £1.00, which will be returned, should the protest be sustained.

11     The Judges decision is final.

A Silver Cup donated by Mrs Lyall will be presented for most points in the Children’s

Section (i.e. Classes 40 to 53, replica given).

A Special Prize will be given by Mrs Clark for most points in Classes 1 to 84

(including Children’s Section).

A Special Prize will be given Foster’s of Distington, for most points in the Children’s Section.

A Perpetual Trophy presented by Cockermouth Rotary Club will be given to the

Best Exhibit in the Children’s Section.

A Special Prize will be given by Brooks Music Centre for Best Exhibit in Children’s Section.

A Special Prizes will be given for the Best Photos by Boots, The Chemist, Cockermouth.

A Perpetual Memorial Tray in memory of Mrs E Bowe will be presented to the Best Exhibit

in the “Flowers, Plants and Floral Art Classes” (Classes 54 - 65).

A Special Prize will be given by Mrs S Watson to the winner of the Mrs E Bowe, Memorial Tray

Cups to be held for one year only, but replica to be retained by winner.
